"Capital" of Cotentin, Cherbourg was a long time a transatlantic stopover for the large steamers whose Elisabeth II as well as a large marina. Cherbourg, it is also a city with human dimensions still marked by the influence of a rural medium which twice animates per week the principal place.   To also discover, the small city of Saint-Vaast Hougue (photo), but also, the Saint-Marcouf islands, the Ground island and the island Broad, true reserves with the birds where some 30 000 species (seagulls, cormorants, will hérons and others) there nest.
